À l’invitation d’un archiviste imaginaire qui incarne l’esprit du lieu, quatre personnalités du monde du cinéma québécois et un enfant curieux partent à la recherche des trésors que protègent depuis 40 ans les voûtes de la Cinémathèque québécoise. Ils y découvrent le cinéma du cinéma, l’histoire de nos histoires, la mémoire de nos mémoires, et aussi un peu d’eux-mêmes. Car sans la Cinémathèque québécoise, c’est tout un pan de notre vie collective qui s’abîmerait sans retour sous la poussière de l’oubli.
Documentaire en forme d’aventure visuelle, qui a pour but de faire découvrir au public le rôle de notre cinémathèque, considérée comme la troisième en importance et en qualité dans le monde.
